Policy document
This document gives information about the insurer, insured, beneficiary/end-user and
insured equipment etc and other terms and conditions.

Proposer & insured: Apps gram gadget secure private limited

Insurer:  oriental insurance company limited

Beneficiary/end-user: purchaser of the brand new equipment along with the product
would be   termed as the insured in the said policy.

The user can be: name of the person or organization as shown in the invoice

  1. If purchased by an individual – purchaser or 1st owner his/her spouse, parents & children
2. If purchased by an organization – any authorized representative/employee if purchased by company or organization.

Medium / distribution channel:  retailers, distributors and associates / online stores,
applications channel along with all associates and any other distribution channel selected
by the apps   gram gadget secure private limited.

Subject matter of insurance: the subject matter of insurance will be brand new mobile
handset/ tablet bought by customer from proposer’s distribution medium like retailers,
distributors and associates / online stores, applications channel along with all associates.

Insurance will be invalid if coupon is registered after 48 hours of mobile purchase.

Policy coverage:

  The policy is a special package policy to cover insured equipment for a period of one year from
the date of activation of the product, subject to the product purchased along with insured equipment.

  The subject matter of insurance will be brand new mobile handset/ tablet bought by customer
from proposers medium.

Perils covered under the policy, are as follows:

A. Accidental damage
B. Liquid ( water or like) damages
C. Fire & allied perils
D. Earthquake
E. Stfi (storm, tempest, flood & inundation)
F. Theft and snatching only and fir must file under sector 379 of ipc and housebreaking.

Tablets without sim connectivity are covered against accidental external damage and accidental
fluid  damage only.

Administrator/facilitator/coordinator:
All terms and conditions of insurance company will be biding upon you. By scratching a
coupon, you acknowledge that you have read all terms and conditions of insurance company
as  applicable for mobile phone insurance scheme and you admit and accept binding force of the
said  terms and conditions of insurance company.

Therefore, we are imposing additional terms and conditions in the process of getting insurance cover.
You hereby acknowledge the fact that all of insurance claims will be settled and paid by
insurance  company through us and we are ( apps gram gadget secure pvt ltd.)
Acting only a mediator between you and the insurance company .
Therefore, we will not be responsible   for any claim or loss, if, insurance company rejects your claim.

All brands, trademarks which are provided with leaflet and also with the product are not party
to the  present insurance policy therefore they cannot be hold responsible for any claim.

Cover period: 12 months from the date of purchase of the equipment along with the
Insured product or services.

Sum insured: mobile handset value as mentioned in the purchase invoice/bill.

Exclusions:

 1.    Loss, such as lost, forgotten/misplaced/left unattended, missing and any loss under
mysterious circumstances & unexplained losses.
2.    3 days time excess in case of theft & burglar claims.
3.    Loss resulting from or caused by theft, or attempted theft of insured equipment where equipment
is  left in unattended vehicle or room except car of fully enclosed saloon type or  room,
having at  the  time all the doors/windows and other opening securely locked and properly fastened.
4.    Loss due to intentional act or wilful neglect.
5.    Loss arising after 12 month from date of purchase.
6.    Any loss due to hire or loan of the insured equipment to a third party or if ownership is transferred.
7.    Loss arising due to unlawful act including terrorist activity, war, nuclear explosion,
radioactive contamination, chemical, biochemical, biological, electromagnetic, cyber attack etc.
8.    Any loss if the insured equipment is not connected to any cellular network of service provider
(only for mobiles).
9.    Consequential loss of any kind or description including wear & tear, manufacturing defects etc.
10.  Loss caused by incorrect storage, poor care and maintenance, careless use, gross negligence,
incorrect installation and incorrect set-up.
11.    Loss covered by supplier, dealer or factory warranty.
12.    Any loss of data or software installed in the equipment.
13.    Any loss arising outside the territorial limits of india.
14.    Any loss which is cosmetic in nature and does not result in to complete stoppage of/or
functioning of equipment.
15.    Any loss effecting to sim card and any ancillary product etc even if the equipment result into
complete stoppage of working.
16.    Any loss or damage to accessories and panels even if forming a part of standard pack or to
any complimentary or ancillary product/s made available under any promotional scheme.
17.    No back up devices will be covered under the scope of the policy.
18.    No stand alone damages to the battery will be covered under the scope of the policy.
19.    Any loss which is cosmetic in nature and does not result in to complete stoppage of/or
functioning of the equipment.
20.    Any loss effecting to sim card and any ancillary product etc, even if the equipment results
into complete stoppage of working.
21.    Any loss or damage to accessories and panels even if forming a part of standard pack or to
any complimentary or ancillary products made available under any promotional scheme.
22.    If the handset is used by a person other than the insured, as defined above.
23.    Caused when engaged in criminal acts.
24.    If documents are found tampered; non disclosure of material facts, frauds/ miss-representations.
25. Personalized data such as contact lists, photos, video, and music downloads. Customized
software, such as personal information managers
(pim’s) ring tones, games, or screen savers.
26. Covered accessories will only be covered when they are part of a loss to covered property other
than covered accessories.
27. Colour faces plates or other non-covered accessories.
28. Preventive maintenance or preferential adjustments.
29. Accessories are not covered in insurance

Compensation:

  1.   Compensation for any partial loss claims will be by way of repair at authorised workshop to
the insured equipment and reimbursement by way of neft to the insured bank account.
Maximum   liability shall be cost of repair, subject to excess. If the repair cost or maximum
liability at the time of loss exceeds the total loss settlement, insurer shall settle the claim on total
loss under ber (beyond economic repair) if repair cost equal to and more than 80%.

  2. Compensation for any total loss claims will be by way of reimbursement by way of neft to the
insured bank account. Maximum liability shall be sum insured, subject to excess and
depreciation depending on age of insured equipment from the date of purchase to the date
and time of loss.

  3. Excess is the minimum value which shall be deducted in each and every claim.
Excess shall be 5% of invoice value subject to min of rs. 100/-

  4. Depreciation shall be applicable on the equipment value as mentioned in the invoice
depending upon the age of the equipment at the time of claim.

  5. The rate of depreciation would be charged as per following table:

6. Depreciation is applicable only in case of  Theft / total loss. In case of partial loss (repairs) no depreciation
will be applied and actual repair cost less excess shall be paid unless the compensation under the
claim reaches maximum liability as per age of the equipment or repair cost is beyond economic repair.

  7. Settlement in case of total loss and beyond economic repair claims would be settled on net of
salvage basis. Amount of rs. 100/- towards salvage would be deducted from the claim amount.
The damaged equipment would not be accepted or asked for as salvage.

LIMITS OF LIABILITY
A maximum of two (2) repairs of covered property will be allowed per insured subscriber in any
one twelve (12) month period.

CLAIM PROCEDURE & CLAIM DOCUMENTS:

Intimation of claim

Procedure

1. The insured or beneficiary has to intimate/ report the loss to Help Centre . 01169415415
Or Mail Us contact@appsgram.in of the apps gram within 48 hrs of the occurrence.

2. The help centre of the apps gram will note down the details of the insured, equipment, and
the incidence and raise a reference no.
3. The apps gram help centre will provide the ref. No to the beneficiary and will brief him/her the
claims procedure over the phone.

PARTIAL LOSS CLAIMS

Procedure for repairing of damaged equipment- partial loss:

1. The insured is required to take repair quotation from authorized service centre.
2. Send repair quotation along with 2 legible photos of the damaged handset (1 photo showing
imei number clearly and one showing damage) to the proposer’s help centre through email.
The same details would be forwarded from the apps gram help centre to the broker.

Post approval process for repairing of damaged equipment  – partial loss:

1. Post approval from the insurer, the insured will get the equipment repaired from the authorized
service centre and get the original invoice and cash receipt/ paid stamp on the repair invoice
itself towards the repair work done and payment made.
2. The insured has to send the documents for claims processing within 15 days from the date of receipt
of repaired equipment.
3. List of claim documents, procedures, and downloadable formats of the documents will be uploaded
in the website of the “appsgram.In”
4. The insured will arrange to send the claim documents in the prescribed format to the broker’s address.
5. The apps gram help center will guide the insured for smooth processing of claims and documentation.

List of documents required for processing of claim – partial loss

1. Scrutiny sheet/check list.
2. Photocopy of invoice of the equipment on the claimant’s name.
3. Self attested photo id proof of claimant.
4. Original repair quotation from authorized service centre only.
5. 2 legible photos of the damaged handset (1 photo showing imei no. And 1 showing damage).
6. Cash receipt/ repair invoice with a paid stamp towards payment made for the repair of the equipment.
7. Insurance claim form (* marked are all mandatory information).
8. Discharge voucher

TOTAL LOSS/ BER (BEYOND ECONOMIC REPAIR) CLAIMS

Procedure of damage insurance claim process – total loss/ ber claims:

1. In case the cost of repair reaches the maximum liability after deduction of excess and
applicable depreciation or the repair cost is beyond economic repair, the claim would be settled
on total loss basis.
2. Survey will be must in case of a total loss/ber claim.
3. The insured has to send the documents for claims processing within 10 working days from the
date of receipt of communication that the claim of the equipment is being treated as total loss/
ber claim.
4. List of claim documents, procedures, and downloadable formats of the documents will be uploaded
in the website of the “appsgram.In
5. The insured will arrange to send the claim documents in the prescribed format to the broker’s address.

List of documents required for processing of claim – total loss/ ber claims:

1. Scrutiny sheet/check list.
2. Original invoice of the equipment on the claimant’s name.
3. Self attested photo id proof of claimant.
4. Original repair quotation from authorized service centre only, stating that the equipment
is not  repairable or is beyond economic repair.
5. 2 legible photos of the damaged handset (1 photo showing imei no. And 1 showing damage).
6. Insurance claim form (* marked are all mandatory information).
7. Discharge voucher.

THEFT / HOUSEBREAKING INSURANCE CLAIM PROCESS:

Procedure

1. Intimation of claim.

 A. The insured or beneficiary has to intimate/ report the loss to help centre: 01169415415
Or Mail Us contact@appsgram. in of the apps gram within 48 hrs of the occurrence.

B. The apps gram help centre will note down the details of the insured, equipment, and the incidence
and raise a reference no.
C. The apps gram help centre will provide the ref. No to the beneficiary and will brief him/her the
claims procedure over the phone.

2. Survey is a must in case of each snatching claim.
3. Intimate police station on snatching and get police fir “Duly stamped & signed”.
4. Block all sim card (for multi sim equipment) with telecom operators and get sim blocking letter
“Duly stamped & signed”, in case of theft / snatching of mobile handsets/ tablets.
5. Fir to be procured within 48 hours of the incident.
6. Sim blocking letter to be procured within 96 hours of the incident.
7. The insured will arrange to send the claim documents in the prescribed format to the broker’s
office address.

An immediate intimation (not later than 48hrs from the date of loss)

List of documents required for processing of claim – theft & housebreaking:

1. Scrutiny sheet/check list.
2. Original bill on claimant’s name
3. Self attested photo id proof of claimant
4. Police fir “Duly stamped & signed”.
5. Sim blocking letter or email copy from service provider “Duly stamped & signed”
6. If claimant is not a sim owner, sim owner photo id proof to be submitted with rest of the documents
7. Bill for post-paid customers or in case of prepaid customer shall be provide declaration.
8. Insurance claim form (* marked are all mandatory information).
9. Letter of subrogation on minimum rs.20 stamp paper along with notary.

CLAIM SETTLEMENT TAT

30-40 working days (15 days for claims processing + 15 days for money transfer) from the
date of receiving of all claim documents.

Disputes & jurisdiction:  any disputes or differences under this policy shall be subject to the
                                                        Exclusive jurisdiction of courts in new delhi, india.
